Wow time flies, it seems I have been negligent in posting for three whole months. Tsk tsk, this was not intentional on my behalf. It happened more due to my being caught up in life, you know how that goes I am sure.
So let's bring you up to speed on where life has taken me, I'll keep it brief and just hit the high points. Then as I start to blog again more often, you'll have some frame of reference for things.
Currently I have a head and chest cold and Jason is over due for his post vasectomy cum in a cup appointment.
Last month I turned 39 years old and celebrated with a trip to Las Vegas. While in Vegas, Jason and I finally were married, it was all previously planned and we even did it live on the internet. The ceremony was progressive and exactly what we wanted it to be for us. Want to watch it, write me and I'll send you the link.
The end of this month Pickle will be two, its rather remarkable how fast he is growing up. My daughter will be eighteen soon and the difference between raising them both is just night and day.
The Lounge turned four this month already, it's kinda crazy. Over 2000 members at this point, this next year is a time of great change for my professionally.
My relationships continue strong and steady. Allena's cancer has been kicked and she made the decision to forgo augmentation and during it all she met someone super special to her. Amy remains a spit fire and so not one to fit into a label and the rest of the tribe are quite seriously more of a handful than I am.
Ben makes me laugh and reminds me to give myself a break now and again, I admire his outlook on life. Marilyn is the friend I wish I had twenty years ago, she has wisdom that I cherish. Sheryl shows me that one woman is capable of so much on her own. Victoria's struggles are an obvious reminder to me to take the time to listen to others, she is a source of strength. Judy is proof that regardless of age, love and a reshaping of ones life is always possible. Lisa has shown me a steady relationship of friendship based on respect. Clive hears me and always has the time, his family values are admirable and his advice is sound.
My health has been on a slow climb out of the depths of hell thankfully, but not without much suffering, piles of money spent on drugs and a lot of medical professionals helping me. To be fair, Jason carried me through the worst of it, and when he was unable to do it any longer, the hospital was there for me to be admitted to.
We did a complete remodel on the outside of our home as well and the renovation process was enough to make me feel like running away. But it's done now and damn, does it ever look fantastic. Both Jason and the companies we hired did a way better job than I ever could have hope for.
My Taboo Sex Show touring schedule for 2011 - 2012 started last week with a four day teaching gig in Calgary. Later this week, I head off to Edmonton to do it all over again, then no more shows till January with Taboo.
It has been a time of great introspection for me these past few months, I feel as though I am coming out of a fog. The rat race had kept me busy for so long, that slowing long enough to check in with me and take care of my family and priorities was just suddenly a must do item for me.

Vows for 2011
Resolutions are something I think about each year and that's been a constant since I was about 10 years old.
When I was younger, one resolution I made every year that I also failed, was "Grow my nails out and stop biting them". I made that vow every single year, and within days was chewing on my fingernails again sadly. It took me till I was an adult, to stop this bad habit.
When I was a teenager I had a resolution for a number of years, to " be married". That lasted but a couple of years before I grew up enough to realize that I wanted partners, not "a" partner.
As a young adult, my more mature resolutions revolved around making amends with my family of origin. I tried, only to learn the lesson that there is a reason for most family break downs and sometimes that means relationships are not salvageable.
In my late twenties my resolutions were to be a good single parent, find enough work to pay my bills, and for us to live well rounded lives. Success was ours wearily.
In my early thirties my goals were around activism, personal pride and internal strength. I surpassed my expectations.
The last few years, my resolutions have encompassed creating new life, recreating our family unit, building an empire, and developing the skills sets necessary to survive and thrive professionally and personally.
2011 is the year of health.
2011 is the year of wealth.
2011 is the year of community.

Breath
In Oriental Medicine, there are 72 meridians or energy pathways along which life force, or chi, flows through your body. Several of those meridians help regulate the emotional experience of life. From this medical perspective, the connection between sex and emotion stems from the fact that all pathways, which regulate emotional energy, pass through your genitals. When strong, dramatic moments between lovers lead to great "make-up" sex or low-grade anger and resentment leads to a withdrawal from sex, it is because of the effect emotionally-charged chi has as it flows through the genitals.

Scheduling
Privately I seem to be in great demand right now. Change of seasons, people seem to be ready to spark the home fires again. This means, if you want to see me I suggest making contact sooner rather than later, because I am booking weeks out right now. My calendar is almost (but not quite) booked solid through the end of the year now.

3 parties in 24 hours
It was not my first time being hired by this group of young women. In fact, they have hired me a few times before and I'm seeing twice more in the next six weeks. They take much from time with me and I enjoy teaching them. Private Classes are way more intimate and when in someones home and not the Lounge, it's still an evening of debauchery. (just on a different level)
The class I was teaching was called "Bedroom Poses" which of course is a 2.5 hour long class on positions for sex play. Interactive, hilarious, educational and created by me completely. It is an awesome class that this group of lovely ladies enjoyed on many levels and one that I am confident their partners are going to go gaga over the rewards from.
The tried to hire me to stay for an additional hour last night, though sadly I was unable to. Jason was picking me up and we were heading to a second party immediately after wards. It's always flattering to be so well thought of and sought after: especially when the crowd is a large group of extremely hot women.
An hour later and I was at my second party of the night and this one had me naked and kneeling within ten minutes of being in the door. It was a private party amongst close friends. Who knew that my attempts at submitting to the red head would have so many people laughing?
Then a little later on I convinced one of the men present to let me spank him. He's rather tall and yet was still a great fit as he bent over my naked lap for our encounter. It was of course tongue in cheek, and fast went from spanking to nerf batting, to a full on hilarious, pee yourself watching, wrestling match.
We wrestled on the dungeon floor for awhile, both of us panting and slowly depleting our energy reserves. I got him in a head lock. A camera came out of nowhere and someone started taking photos for prosperity sake. We took down the cameraman and he landed on his ass -- Ouch, Oh my!
It was a girlfriends birthday celebration and this was why we were at her home and dungeon with all of our pals.
A kind man, stood next to me in the dining room, and cracked me a crab, while handing me each and every piece. There were over a dozen crabs on the table, cheeses, cakes, nibblies and morsels -- yummy goodness.
The clock struck late and we returned to our car. I drove us back to the babysitters, were we fetched our wee one before making the trek back home.
In just over 24 hours, I have ran a Sauna Party, taught a private class to a stagette and got-it-on at a private soiree.
Today its my plan to spend the day sitting at my dining room table, in my robe. I have the house to myself and a tonne of stuff to complete and paper to finish pushing after such a successful weekend.
You too can hire me to teach at your home, office, or event, after reading this. It's easy, write me for more details.

Changes
These last few days have been rather challenging for me. I find myself facing both some family and professional issues that are demanding my attention and making me consider deeply some things I have formerly taken for granted.
Nothing like a slap in the face to rouse one out of the compliant place I've been living in.
The next few days will be spent reassessing my goals and what it is going to take to reach them, should I even still have the strength to work towards them.
What's a girl to do? Except move forward.

Spare Any Change
For five years and two months now I have been religiously writing here on my blog regarding my personal life and my professional pursuits.
I have shared myself to give others another perspective on sex positivity, sex work and the joys and tribulations of being a lone woman working in these genres.
It is my hope that you have laughed, cried, learned new ideas, questioned some of your own view points and values, been inspired to try new things and been a better more enlightened person due to reading along here.
You've seen photos of my real self and shared in my journey as an educator, activist, partner, kinkster and mother.
So after these five years, I have gone ahead and put a Donate Button, done through Pay Pal on the upper right hand side of this blog.
I spend my valuable time writing and if you spend any length of time reading here and would like to offer me a token of generosity for my efforts, there is now a way for you to do this.
And now back to regularly scheduled programming.....

workload
I have been exceptionally busy this past week or so. And as such I want to apologize for my lack of entries here. Soon enough I'll find the time to sit down and really put some thought into posting again -- in the mean time, I am jotting down notes on things I want to remember to write about.
There are a number of big projects that are requiring me to invest in them at this moment, so excuse me while I go take care of business.

Work Over Load
My life is crazy right now and this is an understatement.
In our house is a teenager readying for year end exams by studying like mad and a five month old teething and going through a developmental growth spurt.
I am plagued by CDIFF and wish for nothing more than to be rid of this horrible infection, it is so unpredictable, painful and nasty. Tomorrow I visit the hospital yet again for more tests and Friday the doctor sees me with the results and a new plan for getting me well.
In eight days I fly out of Province for a day of negotiations with a large corporation that is waving at me money, opportunity and career notoriety. Then fourteen hours after I return from this whirlwind visit.... I leave for Europe on an action packed and greatly anticipated trip through London, Berlin and Paris.
Between now and my departure I have four private coaching appointments, four large events at The Lounge and I still need to pack, get my hair done, have a mani/pedi, complete my banking, do a small mountain of paperwork and lest I forget .... sleep.
Somewhere in all of this I also have to fit in family time, cooking, laundry, caring for a infant, uploading the June calendar, emptying my in-box and commuting time to accomplish all that I need to.
Any idea how to get more hours in a day? Personally, I am at a loss.

Clarity
Speak the unspeakable. You must say the very things you think you can not.
People will take notice.
It will take courage.
My strength is an extension of my boldness.
The more bold, direct and forthcoming I am with out shame, the further ahead I move.
What do you need to say out loud, by the light of day?
What secret needs to be revealed? Once it's known, you will be elevated.
The depths of my insecurities once broadcast, lose their power of me.
I hear so many peoples disclosures, and all without judgment.
Free yourself today.

An Ordinary Day
Yesterday was a fairly ordinary Saturday for me, here are a few highlights worth mentioning
- I taught 11 women how to give scrumptious blow jobs and expert hand jobs
- I had my photo taken as I spanked a long time woman friend
- Jason and I had sex at a party on a gynecological table
- I massaged two nude women's breasts, using my own oiled breasts
- I kissed a woman who had never been kissed by a woman
- Two different women asked me for sex
- I watched a group of 7 people rimming, doing oral and tit fucking
- We received two lovely baby gifts from different friends
- The teenager looked after Pickle while we went to work last night
- Introduced 2 of my friends to one another, they hit it off and got it on
- I blew Jason
- Jason went down on me
- My man tied up a woman at the party
- Jason hit a lesbian repetitively with his penis (it was really funny)
- I was on a bed with 5 good friends, only 3 of which I've ever been intimate with.
- A film company asked to borrow some of my high end sex toys for an upcoming shoot

List of Worry
There are days you simply wished you could erase from memory. Today was one of those unfortunate days where nothing went off as planned and I feel like I accomplished jack-shit.
Currently on my plate a number of things that are pressing.
Currently on my plate a number of things that are pressing.
- I have an issue with a certain persons behavior and I'm trying to find a suitable way to work through this with them in a short period of time. I hate that this is causing me angst, usually I am able to handle things of this nature fast and with care.
- Putting the baby to sleep is exhausting emotionally - he sleeps well, but getting him to fall asleep is ridiculous.
- I have to drive the teenager to the airport at 4 AM.
- The contractors working at The Lounge today were close to 2 hours late and as such are no where near finished the job they were hired for. Thursday we go at it again.
- Juggling a 3 month old baby and working full time is not something that I recommend. Being self employed is draining at a time like this, like nothing I can describe adequately.
- Tomorrow the little man gets his vaccinations. Oh joy, that should be.
- I was requested today for yet another (print) media interview. The topic is one I am passionate about so I have said yes. They want to do it via phone this week when I have some free ... and quiet time. Good luck eh?
- There is a large project I have been pondering doing for awhile, and I have finally decided to throw caution to the wind and move forward with it.
- This month I am teaching at Kwantlen College twice, and at SFU. I need to work on my classes and update them for a "student" audience.
- Friday I see the Infectious Disease doctor again for a check-up, this is actually making me nervous.

Disease & Infections
Mondays are notoriously for me a long day that I rarely look forward to. However today as a Monday, is an exception. Thus far my day has been filled with joy.
Let me illustrate three reasons why:
1. Someone owes me a substantial chunk of change and has for quite some time. It finally got to the point where asking for the return on the money was futile. I took the matter to court. And the court ordered in my favor - I won.
The company involved was given thirty days to make payment. The thirty days came and went. I contacted them to remind them that they were now in contempt of a court order. An apology was given.
Two weeks ago, I told them if the payment was not here immediately I would take the matter back to court and notify media sources about their business practices.
This morning a call came that the check will be in my hands this week. This is so long over due, and an issue that I am glad to have out of my life.
2. This morning my Infectious Disease Doctor phoned me to say that my latest MRI results were promising. This translates to the fact that my Osteomyletis is much better and has stopped spreading currently. We are not out of the woods yet, it can flare up again as its a disease notorious for recurrence. But since its obvious growth is no longer visible, my PICC line will be removed this week. This news is incredible.
I can not wait to have a shower, it has been almost 7 weeks since my last one. I am so eager to immerse my arm in water and be done with this rigorous treatment regime, as it has taken a serious toll on not just myself, but the whole family too.
3. The baby has been sleeping in his own crib for five nights now, instead of in bed with us. Last night he slept from 9 till 2, then awoke for a feed. Then he slept till 7. This means that more frequent sex will be happening again as we have our bed back. And last nights sex was awesome. Jason *had* some guilt over the baby being in his own crib now, but after the sex happened he soon forgot about his misplaced guilt.
However as with all positives there is usually a negative. I am off to the lab shortly. With having C-Diff as a secondary infection due to my long term antibiotic use, it appears that the baby now has it. This bug is dangerous and apparently difficult to get out of ones system. There is a new prescription awaiting me, though this time an oral dose and it transfers to breast milk at a 20% rate, so we are hoping that it is enough to alleviate the babies symptoms. Because of this infection, I will continue to see the ID doctor.

Osteomyletis
My medical issues are beyond expensive these past few months. I am so grateful to be a Canadian and not owe a dime for all the costs that have been incurred. The fact that health care is a right in this country and not something that puts one into bankruptcy is something that I will forever give thanks for.
This morning was my third MRI in the last twelve weeks. Early next week I should have the results back.
I'm a little nervous and scared, wondering how the infection is playing out through my jaw bone. I want it to be over with, yet hold out no false hope.
Time will tell.

Need More Hours In A Day
This morning I was at the hospital lab having more blood work done. These past few months I have been poked more times than I care to remember or even acknowledge.
After my lab work was complete, I headed over for my scheduled appointment in surgical day care. The nurse checked my PICC line site and did a little re-bandaging. The Infectious Disease Doctor came to see me next.
Later this week is my 3rd MRI, and by Monday the powers that be hope to have an answer as to whether or not I need to continue on IV therapy, or if I can go to an oral antibiotic.
By the time I got home, there was a call from my doctor with news that I didn't want to hear.
I've developed a secondary infection in my bowels from the hefty dose of medication I am on. We knew this could happen, as it is a side effect of my meds but had hoped I would not develop it. I have all the symptoms and my labs show I have the infection.
Tomorrow I return to the doctor for another prescription and hope it will clear up this infection.
It seems that though there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that it is a dim and intermittent one.
My week is full of events, medical appointments, running around and complete exhaustion.
Having a baby at 37 years of age, is not the breeze it last was in my early twenties.

Difficiulties
Visualize for a moment what I am about to share with you.
It's very, very late at night. Close to midnight and I've been awake since 7 in the morning ... this means that I am rather tired.
I am walking down the hallway from the living room towards the bathroom and bedrooms in the dark of night.
I'm only wearing capri pajama bottoms.
Attached to my left breast and laying in my left arm is a 13 pound baby nursing periodically as he puts himself to sleep.
In my right hand is my IV bag, which is rather hefty.
My bladder is about to burst so I make a pit stop for the toilet. This is when I realize I am going to have a struggle getting my pants down.
I could call out for Jason, but that would wake the baby. Instead, I grab the bottom end of one pajama leg with my toes on my right foot and pull. Then do the same with the left foot. Then when my pants are low enough I sit and pee.
I drop the IV bag to the floor, grab some toilet paper and wipe all the while in the pitch black of the bathroom. The sound of my pee hitting the water has stirred the wee man.
Before I stand up, I kick off my pants as they are now low enough to do so. Then I grab the IV bag from the floor and attempt to get up without shifting so much that I wake the person with the power to keep me awake for even longer.
Now I shuffle off to bed where I lay my pump by my head. Put the tubes under the pillow and then strategically maneavour myself into a somewhat comfortable position for sleep. What's most important is the bundle of joy laying next to me, has in his mouth my breast STILL.
Sometime in the next thirty minutes or so, he'll pop my nipple out and I'll be free for about four hours, to sleep without him hanging off of me.
The pump and tubes however will remain as a constant for a few more weeks yet.
Navigating day to day living is an honest to goodness challenge right now, and I wish nothing more to be back to normal sooner rather than later.

Accomplishments
The day of productivity ... such is life. Jason's first day off of three and we spent it running around tending to a number of things on the To-Do List of life.
Shopping for a new vehicle on car lots, then an appointment at the bank as we are buying one. Contractors at the Lounge putting in a new bathroom sink while another framed the inside entrance door in crown moldings and hung a matching coat rack. A stop at the fruit and veggie store to replenish supplies. A vehicle load of pop to top up our supply at the Lounge. Supplies for the feline in our house.
By the time we arrived back home just over six hours had gone by and we were wiped.
I laid out topless on the sofa, with the Pickle next to me. Then I dropped a breast into his mouth and he ate in between him and I cat napping while Jason cooked us dinner.
My state of exhaustion is high these days, it's a combination of medication, lack of sleep, new motherhood and over extending myself. So at 8:30 I promptly declared that I needed to go to bed. I left Jason and the baby together watching tv and off I went.
We managed to accomplish a lot in the day, and I was so glad to not have to do it all on my alone. Hauling a car seat in and out of the vehicle with a baby in it is tiring in off itself, let alone all that needed to be done.
We had lofty plans of an afternoon nap and some raunchy sex, sadly neither of those very exciting activities happened. Tomorrow is another day though and we will try again.

Medical Crap
The nurse came by today as I am a part of the home IV program, and I was due for my regular check-in. Sitting at the kitchen table she undid my dressings and cleaned my PICC site. Then she set about trying to draw some blood and attempting to flush my line. (I normally do these things, but once a week she does it and then completes some paperwork on how it went)
Let's just say that I was greatly disturbed when time and time again she unable to get a draw on blood from my line. Then finally she tried to flush the line and it was really, really difficult to push through.
Another problem and not one that a home nurse can fix. She bandaged me back up and left for her office. She called about 90 minutes later to say that the hospital was expecting me and to make my way there.
Off I went, with the Pickle and Jason in tow. Into the Emergency room, where we were treated fast and very well. (a perk as Jason works there and most know him)
I had TPA pushed into my PICC. It's a blood thinner and it breaks down clots. Seems I had a clot on the end of my line and it needed to be cleared. Oh joy. It scared me half to death to get blood thinners and to know that I had a clot too.
A few hours after arriving I was bandaged back up, my pump was turned back on, and I was sent home. Minus the blood clot.
It's crazy the amount of stress this whole situation has created. And on Monday, I will be half way through the minimum number of weeks of treatment that have been ordered. I'll be so glad to get my next MRI to see where things are at in my jaw currently.
