Exploratorium is always a blast, it is the Lounges kinky carnival. This month we had a couple of new booths that turned out really well. And we changed up how the event runs too and things turned out great. Seeing as I have been under the weather, the team of people running everything has done so splendidly and without incident. I am proud to be considered a friend to such wonderful caring people who surround me both at home and at work as volunteers and as confidants.

The new booth Sharp Pointy Things, Knives & Claws was received with glowing praise by those who submitted on a gynecological table to the woman running the booth's evil ways.

And the body painting booth, was a perfect new addition. Wonderful woman, sexy as all hell, flirtatious, and a killer attitude and she paints, on anything, skin included. This is the art work that Eiralyn did on me and the evil woman's chests.

And all the volunteers running the other booths always do such an exceptional job. Seeing as most of the volunteers if not all, are people I call friends, I am not surprised that the event is such a positive experience for those who take part.

Friends Make The World A Better Place

The Lounge was painted today. Finally. And thankfully.

The foyer, the bathroom, bathroom cabinets, and two walls in the main room.

Tomorrow we paint a second coat on, paint the moldings and the kitchen cabinets too.

New equipment over the next two weeks will be added, the projector screen mounted, two partial walls installed and carpet laid.

I arrived today at noon and left at 9:45 at night.

Tomorrow, I'll arrive at 1:30 and hope to be out of there by 7'ish.

I'm exhausted and likely so are all the volunteers who took part. Half of them are returning tomorrow to assist.

We've been desperate to complete these projects and are all thrilled that in not long, most of our plans will be complete.

This is a working event, we will be socializing, but this will be happening as we WORK. We want to complete a specific list of tasks so we can move on to other things.

Ch-changes

Yesterday it took eleven people four hours and twenty two minutes to move Libido Lounge from it's original home, to its new home. A fair bit of work but with so many enthusiastic helpers what looked like it could have been a daunting task was for the most part ... easy. Note that I use the word "easy" as a pregnant woman who did not move a single thing, and who basically just directed.

Two years in our first place of business and now a new place to call our own for the next three years. Pretty damn impressive, wait till you check it out for yourself.

The changes are huge....

Ceiling height a few floors high, so just call the height "massive".
Dedicated carpeted office space, separate from the event space completely.
Concrete floors.
Loading bay doors
A lobby/check in area
Fully wheel chair accessible
A kitchen.
Event areas have 2 painted black walls, and another in stone concrete.

There will be renewals happening and due for many of our members as they first arrive to the new Lounge. Your renewal rate is $25 for 1 year and without making this payment in cash first you will not permitted inside past the lobby. This amount will be due on top off whatever event fee you will be charged for that current dates offering.

Each member will be made to sign a waiver with our new location on it and the current date, this will be valid for one year. There are a few updates to membership information for members to note:

1. there are no in and out privileges at any of our events, for any reason
2. zero tolerance for poor treatment of other members or drama
3. no (flannel) robes or boxer shorts for men at any party
4. no outside food or drinks permitted
5. no personal electronics of any variety
6. no conversations about any illegal activity
7. we reserve the right to refuse membership & guest privileges to anyone at our discretion
8. failure to be appropriately dressed will have you refused entry

Pride Vancouver 2009

Sat in on an on-line webinar this evening that was a mandatory meeting for all Pride Parade participants.

Thus far we have coordinated our volunteers, plotted our signage, reserved a vehicle, obtained corporate sponsorship, obtained bountiful private support, agreed upon volunteer attire for a uniform look and networked with outside entities regarding donated decorations.

There is still plenty to get done, but hey, we are well on our way.

The Pride Parade is Sunday August 2, hopefully we'll see one another there.

This is Day 1.

The Taboo Show officially opens it's doors today at five.

My finally printing bill for all the handouts that Libido Events and Libido Lounge will be distributing was five hundred and twenty five dollars.

I have filled nine volunteer positions with people to assist me with my classes each day in the workshop room.

I have given a corset company another ten of my volunteers so they have staffing for sales and set up and take down over the four days of the show.

I have done one media interview thus far, and currently now have two more booked during the show.

My corporate sponsor is O'Behave a cool company with a group of stores that I have worked with locally in the past, and who also sponsored my Calgary and Edmonton classes too.

My plan is to teach my eight classes these next few days and in between doing so, to meet and network with as many new companies and entities as possible, exposing them to myself and of course to Libido Lounge.

I worked till three o'clock this morning on Taboo related projects. Now it is time for a quick nap so I have the energy necessary to make it through the rest of this long day.

Must still decide what to wear, this is always a challenge. At least I have lots of options to choose from in my closets and I have plans on shopping at the show for a few new naughty pieces to add to the collection.

Today I landed my photo and a decent interview in the Vancouver Courier newspaper, both the on-line version and the print edition. Attention is always nice.

Still this evening I have another ninety minutes or so left of work to do, before I can put my head down on the pillow and go to sleep.

My man is the best, he loves me so much and I simply adore him. Last night he brought me and the teenager home gifts. The daughter got four pair of monkey socks which she was really happy with and I was given knee high camouflage socks. Everyone we know and all the women in my life, think he is just super and a great family man. I am so lucky to have found him, or rather to have been found by him.

Worth bragging about

I am surrounded by many, many wonderful friends and volunteers.

Today my man and I ran Member Orientation and another dozen people, were processed through as members of Libido Lounge. A half dozen men and a half dozen women. Sweet.


That RC is always at my side, and so lovingly, well it is just a dream come true. His efforts to assist me with my work load, are so appreciated. With out him, much of what I do would go unaccomplished or be half complete. I love him dearly.

After Orientation there was an hour long break so we could set-up for Exploratorium. Half of the new members from orientation stayed on for the next event, and another eleven joined them, making the head count of attendees seventeen. Add in eleven volunteers, plus myself and you have twenty nine people. Everyone sampled our booths, and everyone was laughing, exploring, pushing their boundaries, facing fears, learning new techniques and meeting new people. The event had such a great turn-out, despite the weather being so cold and the yucky snow.

It took eleven volunteers to make Exploratorium happen. Each arrived on time and shared their skill sets and enthusiasm with all. That I can count on these friends monthly for this awesome event is huge, they are the back bone of the Lounge, the glue, they are all members themselves and share my passion for Libido Lounge and sex positivity.

I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart. Know that each attendee today who sampled your booth and it's offerings entrusted you with themselves and this happened because I trust you. You have earned my respect, trust and admiration and freely it is yours.


Some of you I love, and all of you I admire. I am honored to call you all my friends and blessed that you gift the Lounge with your time.

Calling All Volunteers

I am putting together something for The Taboo Sex Show in Vancouver January 15, 16, 17 & 18.

For my seventh year, I am also teaching for the show, a whole host of classes, but this post is not about this, as I already have this aspect well under control.

I have been asked to run a booth, something special this year. To do this, I need a small army of dedicated, attentive, detail oriented, sales friendly volunteers who want to earn something REALLY freaking amazing. The offer is super cool.

You volunteer for 16 hours and in exchange you get a wine, beer and pizza party with a corseting class, and a magnificent fully boned, drop dead corset of your choice from anything this spectacular company has in stock. (the exchange rate thus works out to $18.25 per hour) You will also get free tickets to Taboo.

I have a shift schedule and two different types of work available. Women for sales, and men for set up and take down.

Below is the list of needs. If you want to earn all the bonuses I've listed drop me an email soon as I want this roster completed before Christmas so I need not be tending to it over the holiday season.

Of course you'll be seeing me at the show, however you will be working for someone else. A really great woman, whom I admire a lot and also happen to lust after her corsets.


Set Up:
Thursday 9:00 to 2:00 2 men & 1 woman This is set up and will require strength. 3, 5 hour shifts.

Take Down:
Sunday 1:00 to 9:00 = 2 people =2, 8 hour shifts includes tear down.
6:00 to 9:00 = 2 men for tear down Can be the same one that helped set up to fill out an 8 hour shift =2, 3 hour shifts

Actual Sales:

Thursday:
4:00 to 12:00 2 women or one man and one woman. = 8 hour shifts


Friday:
4:00 to 12:00 2 women = 8 hour shifts

Saturday:
11:00 to 4:00 1 women = 5 hour shift
4:00 to 12:00 2 women = 8 hour shifts

Sunday:
1:00 to 9:00 2 people (may be 1 man) = 8 hour shifts includes tear down

NOTE: you may combine your efforts and work for both setup and take down and sales if you so desire. You'll need to be strong though!

Conference Building

This evening's class went so great, I was really pleased with the attendees and the flow of the information exchange.

We are currently working on our big 2009 Conference for Libido Events, and I have a list of twenty two potential educators. It is an impressive menu of topics to choose from and the experience level and notoriety of those we are looking at is over-the-top.

We are not releasing any information on the presenters chosen or topics until the contracts have all been completed. There are too many posers kicking around who'd love nothing more than to piggy back on our efforts, and that will so not be happening around here.

When the final line up is chosen and everything is compiled, it will knock your knickers off of you. Money, hard work, dedication and creativity have gone a long way to bringing this weekend together thus far.

Big names, great authors, fabulous draws, passionate people and lusted over topics will all be brought together for a sensational weekend experience for the attendees.

Sponsors are coming together nicely as are the sponsorship dollars needed to make this such a BIG DEAL for the sex positive communities.

I can't stress enough how excited we are to be able to put this together so uniquely and well done.

Friends & Ignorant People

I had a wonderful sleep in this morning, till 10. Then I saw clients in the office just after noon. Wonderful women, and I was able to easily give what they needed. Came home and had a mid day nap, which was needed as my body has still not fully recovered from this latest bout of illness that has been plaguing me.

Squeezed in a short bit of time with my daughter after school and had a chance to catch up with her and her interesting teen-world.

A lot of running around today. There was much that I needed to catch up on and even more things that required my attention before tomorrows Naughty party.

This evening over in Delta, to a packed room filled with 16 class participants and two volunteers, was 18 people whom I led on the journey towards understanding both female ejaculation and the G-Spot.

The class was a different sort of group, not as questioning as others in past. Or, perhaps I am just getting better at my job. Tonight's class was quiet though, and intense. Five couples and everyone else singles, including women.
