Off the top of my head

This post is a random assortment of thoughts, links and observations.

  1. Consider how it makes you feel to learn that medical students are doing pelvic exams on unconscious non consenting women during surgeries in Canadian hospitals. Apparently these "students" need to practice on some one. Could it have been you?
  2. I spent some time today digging up work related photos for the Gallery on the Libido website.
  3. We have added a new and exciting event to our calendar, it will only be offered quarterly, so get yourself on the guest list now.
  4. Today I watched a 10 minute movie called "The Period of Purple Crying" a new way to understand your baby's crying.
  5. I have learned how to sleep with static aka white noise playing very loudly -- it calms the Pickle.
  6. A friend gave me the gift of time yesterday. While I had a manicure and pedicure, she took the baby for a walk then after wards we all sat together talking over a cold drink. What a leisurely luxury, and long over due. I am filled with gratitude.
  7. Are you a UBC student who I would recognize and know? If you are on campus next Tuesday AND/OR Thursday I need some assistance. Drop me a private note to my email address jennifer@libidoevents.com

Dirty, filthy sex

Source: Saanich, BC newspaper

A Saanich police officer got an unexpected eyeful when he found a couple having sex in a dumpster early Friday morning.

The call to police had simply reported people walking suspiciously behind a business near the corner of Quadra Street and McKenzie Avenue around 1:45 a.m.

"When the officer was out of his car having a look around, checking doors he could hear noises coming from the dumpster," said Sgt. John Price.

The officer called out and got no response, so he pulled out his flashlight and took a look inside.

"He peeked over the edge and in the bottom of the dumpster, a man and a woman (were) full-on nude, intertwined, oblivious to his presence," Price said, confirming the pair were in the act.

The couple complied when ordered to put on their clothes and get out of the dumpster. A 26-year-old man was taken into custody by Oak Bay Police on an unrelated outstanding warrant. A 30-year-old woman was simply told to go home.

Prop 8 & Equality

Grab yourself a box of kleenex and be prepared to share this link. It's powerful, moving and inspirational. As a woman who loves women, I couldn't agree more. I love you Allena!

Tidbits

The Attendee List was rather large. We had nineteen people attend this evenings New Member Orientation class, it was a very busy night. Plenty of items to discuss, tours to do and paper work to complete. Our Member base is growing exponentially and I couldn't be more pleased.

The chance to sit back and view others as they see Libido Lounge for the first time makes me proud and ecstatic. People love the space when they see what we have created for them and are thrilled themselves to be able to share it with us. It always flatters me when some one is caught off guard by how easy it was for them to walk in our front doors and feel welcomed safely, right away. I work hard to do all of this.
